Main Munna Hu is the retrospection of a child’s journey, starting from being a victim of sexual abuse to living a tyrannous life filled with dilemmas—one he is well-acquainted with. It speaks of how a child’s honour is torn to pieces by his own immediate family—from uncles to didis, how his childhood is pulverized by family and neighbours. The book also reflects how Munna’s credulity and the mightiness (of his childhood) is guarded by gigantic forces of the universe and cannot be demeaned by devils. This force holds Munna’s hand in all of his life’s tyranny—from friendship to relationships, from soberness to dalliance. Munna’s interaction with relationships deceives him from all corners of life. But there is always some grace and light in him that makes Munna display rectitude in every relation, forgiving any kind of retribution and finding inner solace.

About Author
Manish Shrivastava’s journey embarked as an enthusiast of the Hindi language, which is also his mother tongue, and began in his college days as a playwright but came to a standstill when the burden of livelihood overpowered his adoration for and pursuit of writing. His profession range-rovered him to different parts of India, starting from Bundelkhand, which is also his hometown, to western UP, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra, Kerala and Karnataka. His extensive experience even took him to South East Asia and he is presently settled in Jakarta, Indonesia.
