  1. Solstice at Panipat : The book is an Authentic Account of the Campaign of Panipat in the Non Fiction format. It has 312 plus 32 preliminary pages and eight art pages with twenty colour photographs. The cover is a print of an original 18th century painting of the Maratha school taken from the Raja Kelkar Museum. The book has an Index, Glossary, Bibliography, References, Appendices, Notes to Illustrations, Introduction to Principal Characters, Timeline, Genealogies, Foreword and 26 maps through the book explaining the text in lucid detail.
  2. The Maratha Century : The Marathas began their quest for Swarajya in 1646 under Chhatrapati Shivaji. From this year until 1818, the Marathas remained a formidable power in the Indian sub-continent. This is a story of their rise to paramountcy in the Eighteenth century – and their fall in early Nineteenth century. It was the first indigenous Empire after centuries of foreign rule…and the last before the British took over. A look at a stirring saga of a hundred and seventy-five years. The story is told in 37 plus sections, with over 80 colour and black and white pics and maps, a bibliography and an index.
  3. The Era Of Baji Rao : Non fiction account of the Era of Baji rao Peshwa beginning in the seventeenth century and extending to the mid eighteenth. The “Era of Baji rao” is an account of the Empire of the Deccan. It is published by Mula-Mutha Publishers. The book has 392 plus 28 preliminary pages and 12 art pages (432 pages in all), 27 pictures and 22 maps with the narrative. The book has 36 chapters divided into five sections. Besides maps and illustrations, it has a timeline, genealogies, introduction to principal characters, appendices, references, bibliography, glossary and an index.
  4. The Extraordinary Epoch Of Nanasaheb Peshwa : This is a paperback edition of the book…The mid-eighteenth century began with the Marathas as the paramount power in India, and in the next two decades, they rose in power and prestige. In the Carnatic, Bengal, Rajputana, Malwa, Bundelkhand they were supreme, and in Delhi, the Marathas ruled while the Mughal king reigned. In this period when Nanasaheb Peshwa was at the helm, the Maratha power reached its zenith. But that was not the entire story. The events of the mid-eighteenth century are pivotal, and determined the course of the next five decades. The rise of the Europeans in the south and the east added a new dimension, so that this epoch eventually emerged as the crossroad of Indian history. This book narrates that engrossing story. The book is published in hardcover, with over 40 colour pictures on art plates and 27 maps and illustrations. The 500 page book is copiously annotated with over a thousand references and has a bibliography and a glossary along with an introduction to principal characters and important genealogies.
  5. Bakhar Of Panipat : An eye witness account of the biggest battle of the 18th century. Written in 1761, a few months after the battle of Panipat by Raghunath Yadav. This complete, original and earliest account of the campaign of Panipat is sourced from documents at the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland. It has been printed in its original form as well as an English translation with footnotes, introduction and an appendix. This document was taken to England by Sir Charles W. Malet with the intention of writing the History of the Marathas along with other documents. Malet also wrote a summary of the History of the Marathas for Governor General Cornwallis in 1787. This summary from the time of Chhatrapati Shivaji to the year 1787, is published for the first time in this book as an appendix. This six page summary is sourced from the British Library at London. Note -The book has 124 pages including six pages of the original ‘modi’ pages. It has value to those interested in what was written about Panipat’s war months after it was over, who would like to read this source in the original language of the time and to English readers who have not had an opportunity to ever read this bakhar. This is not a novel or piece of fiction. The original author’s work – that was hitherto available in an incomplete form – is presented here with a translation.
  6. The Mastery of Hindustan – Triumphs & Travails of Madhavrao Peshwa :The book is a Narrative of the Rescue of an Empire – pertaining to the times of Madhav rao Peshwa. Set in a non fiction format, the book opens after the third battle of Panipat. What was left in its aftermath was a fragmented Hindustan. When the Marathas were hurtling down an abyss with many potentates rising against them and a raging power struggle at Pune, there came on the scene a sixteen-year-old youth who took over the reins of an unruly realm. In this book, the journey that Indian history took over the next twelve years has been meticulously constructed from original contemporary sources, creating a coherent narrative of a turbulent time when the nation threatened to fall apart. Richly illustrated and copiously annotated, the hardcover book can justifiably claim to be the authentic chronicle of the decade after 1761. The book runs into 576 pages (plus 32 preliminary pages), that include ten appendices, an introduction to principal characters, nearly twenty four maps, over seventy colour pictures of persons, forts and unpublished original documents, over 1300 references, a bibliography, and an index. Covering the story of India, from the north to the south, ‘The Mastery of Hindustan’ takes the story of the eighteenth century a step further. This is Dr Uday S. Kulkarni’s seventh non-fiction book that deals with 17th and 18th century Indian History. It is an unveiling of an unknown part of our rich History.
