?After securing rank 5 in UPSC CSE 2022, I received a number of questions regarding the sources that I was using. For Modern Indian History I was using a book written by Snehil Tripathi sir and Sonali Bansal ma?am. Instead of relying on multiple sources, I relied on multiple revisions of the same book. Why did I choose this book? I think there are three reasons for this. Firstly, the book is very comprehensive, very detailed. It?s almost like a story. Secondly, it?s very systematic and very well organized. It helped me in building the timeline in a more vivid manner. And thirdly it has Prelims Capsules at the end of chapters which helps in quick revision.? -Dr Mayur Hazarika (UPSC CSE, 2022 AIR: 5)

Meant for aspirants of the Civil Services Examination, this book comprehensively covers the syllabus of the subject ?Modern Indian History (as indicated in General Studies Paper-I, Preliminary and Main Exams). The book is an all-inclusive text, with facts for Preliminary Exam and in-depth analysis for Main Exam. Previous Years? Questions and Highlighted Key Words have been provided to give the aspirants a sense of direction and focus during the course of their study. The book thus comes as a solution for those who continue to struggle for complete and exam-centric content in a single source for a wide-ranging subject like Modern Indian History.

Salient Features:

1. Chronological narrative to help readers understand and remember the development of historical events

2. Divided into 7 Units and 5 Appendices

3. Completely revamped and revised chapter on Mahatma Gandhi

4. Two new Appendices

i. Development of Press in India ii. Development of Education
5. Previous Years Questions (up to 2020) at the end of each chapter

6. Prelim Capsule for quick revision

7. Flashbacks and Flashforwards for better understanding

8. Highly useful for various State Services Examinations (PSCs)
