The Velvet Hotline

Ayingbi Mayengbam, a kind-hearted kindergarten teacher, wants to
occupy herself with meaningful work over the school summer
vacation. She volunteers as a call operator at Merry Euphrosyne, a
suicide hotline, but is frustrated by its detached, corporate approach
towards callers. She is soon offered a position at another crisis hotline
where she is permitted to attend to the more vulnerable clients in
person, lending a human touch to the process. However, the risks of the
job, as Ayingbi soon discovers, go far beyond encountering the
occasional deviant.
