In a series of bizarre events, a child runs miles every day to catch a glimpse of the passing train; a lovelorn Christian man settles near a temple and is mistaken as a Swami; a desperate accountant writes his resignation every day; a taxi driver finds a strange parcel and gets embroiled in a mess; a banker is infatuated by a lady-next-door whom he has not met even once; a judge becomes restless in a particular case that corresponds to his past life; and an engineer suddenly vanishes in the middle of the night. Largely set in and around the fictional town of Srabanpur, these interconnected stories, by meditating on ordinary people and their extraordinary struggles, explore the complex dynamics of human relationships in love and loss by bringing forth the endless tussle of hope and despair.
