It focuses on the relevance of the Act in framing the new Indian power system, with special assessment of current margins in technological enhancement of the sector. The series attempts at understanding (i) the organizational tasks, (ii) the tariffs aspects, (iii) the role of the private, (iv) the role of technology in the complex, variegated, state-specific Indian scenario. And formulating clear directions along these four lines will imply understanding their interactions, their meshing together. The study is 3 parts: Electricity Act and Efficiency in Generation, Distribution – Technical Choices and Management – Macro-Level Aspects: What to do as Reforms?. Contributors include Prem K. Kalra, D.P. Kothari, Mahendra Kumar, Joel Ruet, A.K. Saxena among many others
