The book ‘The Ramakrishna Movement Across the Globe: Contribution of Some of Its Pioneer Swamis’ is a work of research which has brought under a single volume, the lives and works of 26 monks of the Ramakrishna Order who worked abroad inspired by the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other direct disciples of Sri Ramakrishna. The present author has worked for t he last three years to complete this book.

Sri Ramakrishna is an ocean of spirituality in whose heart the universe is dwelling like an island. In regard to him, his disciples saw in him just the embodiment of India’s three thousand years’ of spiritual wisdom.

This book contains many little known facts of these monks’ lives. It is these private details of man’s life that reveal his real personality. In the words of Swami Vivekananda: ‘As I grow older that I look more and more for greatness in little things. I want to know what a great man eats and wears, and he speaks to his servants.’ This is what the book precisely tries to depict about the twenty-six monks’ lives and personality.
