About Author

Satyajit Ray (1921–1992) was one of the greatest filmmakers of his era, honored with the Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement and India’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, in 1992. A true polymath, he was not only a visionary director but also a gifted writer, illustrator, designer, and music composer. His literary works—including short stories, novellas, poems, and articles in Bengali—continue to captivate readers of all ages. Ray created the beloved Feluda series and authored numerous popular children’s books, many of which have been translated and enjoyed beyond Bengali literature. His writings remain widely read and cherished even today.
