It’s the literary equivalent of buried treasure: seven newly-discovered, laugh-out-loud stories by Dr. Seuss! The first new Seuss stories to emerge since 199. Lost for over fifty years, the seven rediscovered stories in this book are wonderfully entertaining, beautifully written and packed with great characters and humour. They include ‘The Bippolo Seed,’ in which a scheming cat leads an innocent duck to make a bad decision; ‘The Rabbit, the Bear, and the Zinniga-Zanniga,’ about a rabbit who is saved from a bear via a single eyelash; ‘Gustav the Goldfish,’ about a fish that grew and grew; ‘Tadd and Todd,’ a tale about twins; ‘Steak for Supper,’ about fantastic creatures who follow a boy home in anticipation of a steak dinner; ‘The Strange Shirt Spot,’ about a spot of dirt that gets everywhere; and ‘The Great Henry McBride,’ about a boy whose far-flung career fantasies were bested only by those of Dr. Seuss himself. With his unique combination of hilarious stories, zany pictures and riotous rhymes, Dr. Seuss has been delighting young children and helping them learn to read for over fifty years. Creator of the wonderfully anarchic Cat in the Hat, and ranking among the UK’s top ten favourite children’s authors, Seuss is firmly established as a global best-seller, with over 6 million books sold worldwide. As part of a major rebrand programme, HarperCollins is relaunching Dr. Seuss’s bestselling books, including such perennial favourites as The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham and Fox in Socks. In response to consumer demand, the bright new cover designs incorporate much needed guidance on reading levels, with the standard paperbacks divided into three reading strands: Blue Back Books for parents to share with young children, Green Back Books for budding readers to tackle on their own, and Yellow Back Books for older, more fluent readers to enjoy. The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories belongs to the Yellow Back Book range.

About Author

Theodor Seuss Geisel: better known to his millions of fans as Dr. Seuss: was born the son of a park superintendent in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 194. After studying at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, and later at Oxford University in England, he became a magazine humorist and cartoonist, and an advertising man. He soon turned his many talents to writing children's books, which included the creation of the one and only 'The Cat in the Hat', published in 1957, which went on to become the first of a successful range of early learning books known as Beginner Books.
