About Author

Swami Shashwat ji was born in 1985 in a small village in Madhya Pradesh, India. From early childhood, he started chanting the name of Lord Rama for several hours every day. At the age of fourteen, he left home to travel across India, living for many years in forests and on the banks of sacred rivers. For over a decade, he has been meeting people from around the world, mainly in Rishikesh, where meditation and satsangs take place every evening. His teachings remind spiritual seekers of the great masters of Advaita Vedanta, such as Ramana Maharshi and Nisargadatta Maharaj. His words are frank, direct, and uncompromising. His statements do not try to charm the person’s intellect, but their only aim is to pause and dissolve the mind, thus leading listeners to their true essence and inviting them to be fully aware of every thought, word, and action. He particularly stresses the importance of daily meditation and contemplation, discrimination and detachment, Self-enquiry and Self-knowledge, surrender, and satsang. But Swamiji never imposes his views on anyone and believes that if a seeker comes to him for guidance, his only job is to remove the obstacles on the path. In Swamiji’s presence, we only need to be quiet, listen to that sacred silence, and recognize the eternal joy that we are and in which everything happens naturally.
