Sanjay Gupta, born on December 7, 1966, in New Delhi, is a prominent Indian comic book writer, editor, and the founder of Raj Comics. Often hailed as the "Father of Indian Superheroes," he has been instrumental in shaping the Indian comic book industry.
Sanjay Gupta's passion for comics began in his childhood. After completing his studies, he joined his father, Mr. Raj Kumar Gupta, at Raja Pocket Books, a publishing house established in 1984. This experience laid the foundation for his future endeavors in the comic book industry.
In 1986, Sanjay Gupta co-founded Raj Comics, aiming to create a unique Indian superhero universe. He, along with his brothers Manoj Gupta and Manish Gupta, introduced iconic characters such as Nagraj, Doga, Bhokal, Yoddha, and Super Commando Dhruva. Nagraj, in particular, is considered India's first superhero, blending elements of mythology, fantasy, and science fiction.
