About Author

Dinkar P. Srivastava is a former diplomat. He served in the Ministry of External Affairs at Pakistan, the US and the EU. As Director/Joint Secretary, UN Political Division in the Ministry of External Affairs, he was part of India’s successful lobbying efforts to prevent internationalisation of the Jammu & Kahsmir issue. He dealt with human rights, terrorism, Indian candidature for permanent membership of the UNSC, Pokhran II nuclear tests and Kargil war. He was a member of the Indian delegation to the World Conference of Human Rights. He was involved in the drafting of the National Human Rights Commission statute. He was also an Advisor to the Indian delegation to the International Court of Justice. As Indian Ambassador to Iran, he negotiated the MOU for Indian participation in Chabahar Port. He is the author of Forgotten Kashmir: The Other Side of the Line of Control.
