He is a regular columnist for NDTV, Outlook, DailyO and many other publications. Currently, he is the Co-convenor of BJP’s Department on National Training Programme and Department of Publications. He has also authored two more books—Agitation against Bengal Partition and History of Indian Telecommunication. Narendra Modi has been the most transformative Prime Minister India ever had. How Modicare, free cooking gas, smart cities and ease of doing business are changing lives. What are the tales of Rafale, lynchings, award returns and intolerance. How Modi and Arun Jaitley are cleaning up the NPA mess. How Modi has changed systems and made a new India. This book is a detailed assessment of Modi’s impact on Indian polity and its course in the future. Narendra Modi: Creative Disruptor. The Maker of New India by Dr R. Balashankar is a comprehensive study of the post- Congress polity of India since 2014. So far no other book has presented the power shift so vividly and authentically. he politics leading to the 2014 mandate, the state of the economy when NDA took charge, the numerous scams, NPA misery in the banking sector, demonetisation, GST, social reform measures and welfare schemes changing the face of India have been extensively dealt with in this book. —Arun Jaitley, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India
  2. MODI: The Challenge of 2024 :- The Opposition’s 26-party Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) aims to pose a serious challenge to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. Despite the coalition leaders’ ideological differences and regional rivalries, their overwhelming intent is to prevent Narendra Modi from becoming the first Indian since Jawaharlal Nehru to win three successive five-year prime ministerial terms. The 2024 Lok Sabha election could prove historic. If Narendra Modi wins a third successive five-year prime ministerial term, he will be the first Indian leader to do so since Jawaharlal Nehru. In this sweeping account of events leading up to the 2024 General Election, Minhaz Merchant analyses how Modi has shaped Indian politics, economics and culture during his decade as prime minister. The book examines whether the Opposition’s strategy to present a united front can derail the BJP’s juggernaut. For example, can Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and regional satraps in Opposition-ruled states put aside their differences? Minhaz Merchant has met and interviewed Modi several times since 2012. The author analyses Modi’s policies across key domains: geopolitics, economics, technology and social reform. Broken up into ten broad sections and thirty-one chapters, the book decodes Modi’s evolution over the past decade from a regional leader to a global statesman.
  3. Modi And India: 2024 and the Battle for Bharat :- The year 2014 was a consequential one for the Bharatiya Janata Party and for India. Will 2024 also be so?Is this election about stopping the rise of Narendra Modi and his alleged distortion of the ‘ idea of India’ as conceived by its founders, or the beginning of a dharma-inspired ‘ second republic?’
