About Author

Raj Pandya worked in the Systems Engineering Division of Bell-Northern Research and Nortel Networks for over 20 years. During this time, his research focused on teletraffic modeling of telecommunication systems and networks, mobile network modeling and performance, and Personal Communication Services. Dr. Pandya is now a consultant specializing in mobile communications, with a primary focus on Network Standards for IMT-2000, the international standard for next-generation mobile communications specified by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). He chairs Working Party 3 in the ITU-T Study Group 11, responsible for developing signal requirements for IMT-2000, and serves as the program manager for IMT-2000 network-related studies in ITU-T.
