This is the story of a kid from Calcutta, a street fighter whose life might have been brief and tragic. But he was lucky and he stumbled on his life’s passion, the dark and dangerous world of mining. Eventually, he ran away from home and family to study mining in Wales. His luck held. He found his next passion, his life partner Brigid, and together they embarked on a journey that took them to every continent in the world. He was fascinated by explosives and learned everything he could about this rapidly emerging field. With experience, his knowledge grew and with it came an international reputation. There was a demand for his expertise and finally he realized the need to pass it on to the next generation. He entered the academic world and became a professor of Mining Engineering.
