About Author

Sir Jadunath Sarkar (1870-1958) was a distinguished scholar of medieval Indian history, specializing in the Mughal dynasty. He studied at Presidency College, Calcutta, and served as Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University in 1899. He was knighted in 1929.
