Twenty-seven year old Nazeli ‘Ellie’ Gregorian likes the prestige of her tech marketing job but hates her condescending colleagues, her micromanaging boss, and, now, her ex-boyfriend. Who dumped her. At work. When Ellie’s lovingly overbearing parents plead with her to attend PakCon – a food packaging conference in Chicago – to help promote their company, Hagop’s Fine Armenian Foods, and vie to win the conference’s Superstars award, she’s eager for a brief change and a delicious distraction. Within minutes at the conference, she meets witty, devil-may-care Vanya Simonian, who is verbally sparring with a belligerent man who is keeping her from attending a VIP event. Ellie helps Vanya sneak in, and Vanya thanks Ellie over drinks. The sparks fly as they get to know each other but their meet-cute is cut short when Ellie’s parents recognize Vanya as the daughter of their greatest rivals – the Green Falafel brand’s Simonian family whose mission (according to her mother) is to whiten and package Armenian food for the American health-food crowd. With their families as sworn enemies, can Ellie and Vanya keep their growing feelings secret from their warring families?
