Shabnam Minwalla is a mother of three teenagers, an avid saree shopper, and a self-proclaimed Mumbai-holic. She has spent much of her life immersed in words—editing her school magazine, working as a journalist for the Times of India, and writing non-fiction—but her true passion lies in fiction. She has authored numerous award-winning books for children and young adults, including When Jiya Met Urmila, Saira Zariwala is Afraid, Murder at Daisy Apartments, and The Six Spellmakers of Dorabji Street. Her non-fiction book on Mumbai’s Colaba neighborhood is also highly popular. Shabnam studied at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai, earned an MA in Journalism from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and was a Chevening Scholar at Wolfson College, Cambridge.
