About Author

Majid Husain was a Professor and Head of the Department of Geography, Jamia Milia Islamia. An iconic academician of international repute, Dr. Husain had immense contribution to Geography through numerous publications, research, teaching university students and aspirants for UPSC and other competitive examinations. During his lifetime, he was bestowed with “Best Geography Teacher” award by the Delhi Government in 1997 and “Shiksha Ratna Award” in 2011. He excelled in simplifying difficult concepts for the better understanding of students, and this is being reflected in his writings as well.

Pallavi Saxena, an accomplished UPSC Faculty for Geography, has mentored over 10,000 aspirants with her expertise and dedication. She holds a B.Tech in Energy Engineering from NIT Bhopal and an M.A. in Public Policy from O.P. Jindal Global University, where she was a Gold Medalist. Pallavi’s academic achievements include appearing for the UPSC Interview three times, securing a 100th percentile in UGC-NET for Geography, and qualifying UGC-NET in Environmental Science. She has also served as a Consultant in Policy Evaluation with the Government of Madhya Pradesh at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis. Formerly associated with Byju’s IAS, she is currently a Geography faculty member at Sarrthi IAS (formerly Edsarrthi).
