Engineering Design in its sixth edition continues its tradition of being more oriented to material selection design for manufacturing and design for quality than other broad based design texts. The book introduces the design process meticulously and in a lucid language through Chapters 1 to 9. It is used in the senior capstone design course that includes a complete design project starting from selecting a market to creating a working prototype. Towards the end are key literature references and referrals to useful websites which will aid students in their further research. Being one of the most comprehensive book, it is a valuable part of professional library for students who have taken either a junior or senior engineering design course with an integrated, hands-on design project.

Salient Features:

1. New Topics added

a. Information Literacy

b. Introduction to WordTree for concept generation c. Biomimicry Design Generation Methods
2. Thoroughly revised content with the movement of theoretical and historical content online to provides the opportunity for students to build on their concept design decisions and demonstrate independent learning.
