Diary of a Cricket God is a book by author Shamini Flint of Inspector Singh Investigates fame. This book talks about a determined father who wants to make his son a cricketer. Marcus Atkinson is a cricket god. It is what his dad thinks. Being a self-help book author, his dad believes, with his vision he can make his son a great cricketer. It all stemmed from his dad’s mistake of believing that Marcus scored a goal in a soccer match with his skills. But indeed Marcus just got lucky to push the football into the goal post with his ‘bottom’. Marcus’ awareness in sports is such that he mistakes the brand Puma for the animal puma, when his dad mentions about sports brands such as Adidas, Puma and Nike. With his zero skills at sports and his dad’s determination of raising him to a cricketer, the book is a funny read with sarcasm and comic drawings.
