1 review for Congress-Mukt Bharat

  1. Vineet Kumar Singh

One question is frequently asked by the opposition and Modi haters that “what Modi has done in 7 these years. On hearing this question even the spokesperson of BJP are seen clueless. I suggest them to read this book. All BJP leaders should read this book. While whole book is a masterpiece, but I suggest chapter “India on sale” and failures of MMS and Modi are must read. Within this book, the author has managed to present a plethora of information which enhances one’s political knowledge to different level. Reading this book was like re-living the memory of 2014 and 2019 elections.
This book talks about success and failure of all PMs of India with rating. Rating of ministers. “If I were PM” and “Agenda 2.024”, these two chapters are must read for PM and PMO. Because there is long list of inefficient ministers who are holding chair for long term without delivering.
Some observation on book from my side:-
    • Author says that MMS was a puppet PM and many think that he was honest and was acting on behalf of SG. I disagree and think that MMS was also corrupt to the core and I have no doubt. A number of information is in public domain about this. Coal secretary went jail, but coal minister didn’t. MMS allotted hefty funds to Nalanda University and later a news came that Amartya Sen and MMS daughter misused/appropriated funds. With nil output Nalanda University didn’t deserve that amount of hefty funds. When I talked about this to few intellectuals, there reply was that its OK for PM’s daughter to do some small scale corruption. But same folks raise finger to BJP even on single penny.
    • Raghuram Rajan was/is a critic of Modi as other non-BJP politicians are. Only thing is that his critics comes in guise of economy.
    • Although left has not performed well in elections, I believe that they possess immense influence and their power should not be neglected.
    • It is accused that in Modi Govt., there is centralisation in decision making and PMO is acting as super Ministry. It is practically not possible to look into function of every ministry.
    • I don’t agree that minority are in fear. For that one needs to study about Islam. How they behave when in minority and when in majority. Further, I don’t think there is need to improve relation with Pakistan. Because Islamists have different goal.
    • I agree that Modi ministers lack in expertise and Modi government has failed miserably in effective communication with public. Also Modi could have handled the issues of Shatrughna Sinha, Arun Shourie and Yashwant Sinha and other dissenters in better way. Instead of sidelining Advani, Joshi and others, he could have taken their help. About Jaitley, I have to say that earlier I used to criticise him, but only after his death, I could understand, how great he was, even as FM or RM.
    • Regarding minority, Hindutva and cow vigilantism, I want to say that these are manufactured issues. However, inverse of the same is true. No body wants to listens of pain of poor, whose source of livelihood like cow or buffalo are stolen by pissfuls.
    • Scotch vs Nimboopaani – Compare how much has been spent by Modi on minority welfare with previous govt.
    • About chapter- Is Congress becoming anti India, I want to say that throughout the history, Congress has been anti India. To confirm this author should go through previous chapters.
    • Reforms suggested by author are need of time. Like size of ministry should be reduced. But I don’t agree with author about increasing number of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs. Because the burden of their pay and perks will fall on people like us.
    • Modi government has many achievements which author has diligently covered. Page 107- OROP- I also have been little benefitted by OROP. However, I want to add that in addition to that, Modi govt has provided great benefit to disable armed forces personnel. It has granted minimum 50% disability pension to disable armed forces personnel. Resulting in considerable increase in pension. Like me who was getting 2400(20%) as disability pension, now I get 6000(50%).

Overall a great book. I can understand the amount of hardwork required to collate the data presented by author in this book. Although, I was unknown about the author before reading this book. Now, I want to read other books of the author.
