  1. Churchill :- From the admiralty to the miner’s strike, from the Battle of Britain to eventual victory over Nazi Germany, Churchill oversaw some of the most important events the world has ever seen. Winning the Nobel Prize in Literature for his personal writing and cautioning against a powerful Soviet Russia in his later years in office, his larger-than-life and complex personality has continued to fascinate writers and historians. In this comprehensive biography, Roy Jenkins faithfully presents these events, while also managing to convey the contradictions and quirks in Churchill’s character. Weaving together in-depth analysis and brilliant historical research, Jenkins has succeeded in crafting this magnificent one-volume account packed with insights that only a fellow politician can convey. Bringing to life the statesman, writer, speaker and leader, Churchill is packed with insights into one of the most important figures of the twentieth century.
  2. A Queen for All Seasons: A Celebration of Queen Elizabeth II :- In 2022 Queen Elizabeth II celebrated seventy years as Queen and Head of the Commonwealth. She was Britain’s longest reigning monarch and the very first to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. A Queen for All Seasons is a perceptive, touching and engaging tribute to this unique woman: a treasure chest of first-hand writings, insights and snapshots of The Queen during key moments of her reign. Joanna Lumley guides us as we meet Princess Elizabeth in 1952, aged just twenty-five, and about to become Queen, and brings us through to the twenty-first century when, in the role of matriarch, The Queen kept the national ship steady through seven decades, including in moments of crisis and suffering. Together this forms a vibrant portrait of the woman herself and the extraordinary role she played.
  3. Mein Kampf :- This urge for maintenance of the unmixed breed, which is a phenomenon that prevails throughout the whole of the natural world, results not only in the sharply defined outward distinction between one species and another but also in the internal similarity of characteristic qualities which are peculiar to each breed and species. That is why the struggle between various species does not arise from a feeling of mutual antipathy but rather from hunger and love. In both cases, nature looks on calmly and is even pleased with what happens. The struggle for daily livelihood leaves behind in the ruck everything that is weak or diseased or wavering; while the fight of the male to possess the female gives to the strongest, the right, or at least the possibility, to propagate. And this struggle is a means of furthering the health and powers of resistance in the species. Thus it is one of the causes underlying the process of development towards a higher quality of being. If the case were different, the progressive process would cease, and even retrogression might set in. Since the inferior always outnumber the superior, the former would always increase more rapidly if they possessed the same capacity for survival and for procreation of their kind; and the final consequence would be that the best in quality would be forced to recede in the background. Therefore a corrective measure in favour of better quality must intervene. Nature supplies this by establishing rigorous conditions of life to which the weaker will have to submit and will thereby be numerically restricted…

About Author

Roy Jenkins was the author of many books, including Churchill and Gladstone, which won the Whitbread Prize for Biography. Active in British politics for half a century, he entered the House of Commons in 1948 and subsequently served as Minister of Aviation, Home Secretary, and Chancellor of the Exchequer; he was also the President of the European Commission and Chancellor of Oxford University. In 1987 he took his seat in the House of Lords. He died in January 2003. In addition to his extraordinary political career he was a highly acclaimed historian and biographer. Among his many works, Gladstone and Churchill are regarded as his masterpieces.

Joanna Lumley has been described as 'our most trusted national treasure'. She was born in India and grew up in England and the Far East, celebrating the Queen's coronation as a schoolgirl in Kuala Lumpur. She is a celebrated actress, a former model and Bond Girl, an author and presenter. Her varied screen credits have included Absolutely Fabulous (where she played the legendary Patsy Stone), The New Avengers, and Coronation Street. She is well known for her travel documentaries and as a political activist, including for the Gurkha Justice Campaign.

On April 1, 1924, I began to serve my sentence of detention in the of Landsberg am Lech, following the verdict of the Munich People’s Court of that time After years of uninterrupted labour it was now possible for the first time to begin a work which many had asked for and which I myself felt would be profitable for the movement. So I decided to devote two volumes to a description not only of the aims of our movement but also of its devclopment. There is more to be learned from this than from any purely doctrinaire treatise. This has also given me the opportunity of describing my own development in so far as such a description is necessary to the understanding of the first as well as the second volume and to destroy the legendary fabrications which the Jewish Press have circulated about me. In this work I turn not to strangers but to those followers of the movement whose hearts belong to it and who wish to study it more profoundly. I know that fewer people are won over by the written word than by the spoken word and that every great movement on this earth owes its growth to great speakers and not to great writers. Nevertheless, in order to produce more equality and uniformity in the defence of any doctrine, its fundamental principles must be committed to writing. May these two volumes therefore serve as the building stones which I contribute to the joint work. The Fortress, Landsberg am Lech.
