He was founder member of the first and coordinator of the second Orissa Research Project and is co-author of A History of India (5th edn. 21). Georg Berkemer is Senior Lecturer of South Asian History and Languages at Humboldt University, Berlin. He was a member of the second Orissa Research Project and is co-editor Sharing Sovereignty: The Little Kingdom in South Asia (24).
