Dr. Uzma Firdaus, placed among the admired leaders at the Department of Paediatrics, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, has been an instrumental force in driving the department in diverse capacities, for more than 11 years. A natural prodigy, she secured first rank in the MBBS Final year examination and has won many medals and awards at undergraduate level, with Prof R S Dayal medal in Neonatology at Pedicon Lucknow being another feather in the cap. Her areas of interest include Neonatology and Developmental Paediatrics, which clearly reflect in her 20+ research publications and papers that have been published in various national and international journals and presented in various conferences. A dynamic individual with multifaceted capabilities, Dr. Firdaus is also a trainer for Navjat Shishu Suraksha Karyakram and Regional Resource and Training Centre, has co-authored a book on Diarrhoea and also holds the position of the Nodal Officer at District Early Intervention Centre - Centre of Excellence, JNMCH under Rashtriya Bal Swasthiya Karykram, National Health Mission.
