This book is about Ariṣṭas or dangers. Ariṣṭas are the suffering caused by the untoward positions of Grahas in our Kuṇḍalī. They are the antithesis of the good yogas, such as Rājayoga and Dhanayogas and are the primary cause of suffering. The volume is structured into the Samaya Doṣas, the Nakṣatra Ariṣṭas, the Gaṇḍānta Janma, Bālāriṣṭa, and danger to parent and child. The Samaya Doṣas are the flaws in time. There are numerous yogas, which indicate the time which is not favourable. The Śāstras detail 21 such yogas, and each of them is explained in detail. The Nakṣatra Ariṣṭa occurs to the child, the parents and the relatives, such as maternal uncles and aunts because of birth in a certain Nakṣatra or its Caraṇa. The next two sections on the Bālāriṣṭa and the danger to parents and children are complex, and I have started with providing the building blocks of such yogas. Applying the yogas becomes relatively easier once the seeker understands these building blocks. I hope that the seekers find this useful and helpful in their journey into the world of Jyotiṣa.
