About Author
G. R. Deglurkar, former Chancellor of the Deccan College Deemed to be University has been in this profession for more than 40 years of his career. Because of his extensive surveys he could present systematic studies of the Temples of various styles built under the auspices of the dynasties that ruled over Maharashtra. Dr. Deglurkar's scholarly and exhaustive works on the ancient temples and religious sculptures of Maharashtra, based on exhaustive field work, has put many unknown and neglected works of art particularly in Maharashtra on the larger map of Indian art.
Deglurkar is recipient of many prestigious awards including the Tagore National Fellowships Shefali Vaidya is an award winning multilingual writer and researcher with a keen interest in temple architecture and the history of Indian textiles. Currently, she is a Research Fellow at Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Pune.
