Dr Hedgewar, however, resolved to devote himself to the one task that would lend strength to every other noble cause: to awaken the soul of Bharat. He carried out silent experiments, seeking a path of action that would stir the hearts of all, whether dwelling in cities or forests, learned or illiterate, prosperous or poor.

Once, Pujya Balasaheb said that the term Hindutva-vaad is a misnomer. The word is Hindutva, it is not Hinduism in the Western sense, but Hinduness, the lived and civilisational ethos of the Hindu tradition.

To really know the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, one has to step inside, participate, and live its experience firsthand. This is the only way to truly understand it.

Swami Vivekananda once said, ‘Only when someone in Bharat carries both the resolve of Adi Shankaracarya and the compassion of Bhagavan Buddha, will society find its true direction.’ I believe we found that union in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
