All Lakshmi wants is a bird buddy – her very own pakshi.
After all, every cow has a bird. That’s what her Amma says. One by one, many birds come, but they don’t stay. With a skip in her step and a twinkle in her eye, Lakshmi waits…
Until one day, there is a flutter of wings and a burst of laughter… A chatty, chirpy bird comes her way. Will this one stay?
Will Lakshmi finally find her forever friend?
This delightful picture book by illustrator – author Sharanya Kunnath is a heartwarming story about acceptance and finding extraordinary friendships in the most unexpected places.

About Author
Sharanya Kunnath is an illustrator, graphic designer and author, who has drawn for as long as she can remember – on walls and in the margins of textbooks. She has spent varying periods of her life in Doha, Chennai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Bournemouth, and is now back in Bengaluru, which she considers a homecoming. She lives in the outskirts of the city, where the nearby landscape and geography have influenced her love for ancient temples, architecture and cows. Her illustrations have appeared across the covers and insides of multiple books. Her newest fascination is identifying insects and birds.
