Delhi, 1997. India’s fiftieth year of independence brings political turmoil, but twelve-year-old Adi has bigger problems: his Ma is missing – again. Left with an ailing grandmother, a raging father and no answers, he finds an unlikely ally: an officer from the Department of Historical Adjustment.

The Department grants Adi access to his family’s files – including his Ma’s memories – transporting him on a journey to uncover the secrets that might finally explain the present. But first, he must prove he’s ready to face the past.
